Hi guys! Sorry I haven't posted. But I did pick up some trash while I was gone! My family went to the lake recently and found that the lake is getting more clean. Most of the trash we find is old, not recent, which makes me happy and excited. I also found that it is getting a little more easy to spot the old neglected trash than it was over the summer. Some of the summer/fall vegetation are dying, exposing more trash than before. Not to worry, we are cleaning the trash up pretty efficiently! The picture of the trash is down below!

Neighborhood Trash
A few days ago, my dad was walking our dog in our neighborhood field. I was at home and I got a call from my dad saying that he found a lot of litter and asked me to bring trash bags and our trash collectors to the field. I ran to get there and found that there was a section of the field littered with beer cans. There had to be at least 20 of them! We had to clean them up and bring them home, and put them in our own recycling bin! It was utterly embarrassing but at least our neighborhood is a little cleaner than it was before. We took three pictures, and posted below.

Whole Family Trash Collecting
Today we decided to go to the lake for a stroll and we convinced my mom to come along. So for the first time ever our whole family walked and collected trash together around North Creek lake. We decided to collect around the entry point of the lake. There were lots of rocks around that specific area and we tried to collect while balancing on the rocks. My dad slipped and fell into the water getting himself wet from his waist down.
We have enclosed two pictures, one with the trash we collected, and the other of my dad's wet clothing :) Let's litter less!

Happy Late July 4th
Happy late 4th of July! Yesterday, my family went around North Creek lake collecting litter. We collected lots of trash and we were shocked at how much trash there was around the lake. I was extremely happy that we were able to collect most of it even though there were lots of plants/thorns along the way, we managed to get a bicycle! I saw that most of the baby ducklings had matured into adults! They were a lot bigger than the last time we saw them. So that is all i have to say so look at the picture below!

Summer Break Collection
Hi everyone! Today we became professionals at trash pick-up by getting great new trash pick-up tools. The tools are trash grabbers and we got 3, one for my dad, my sister, and me. We tested them out today and they worked beautifully! We were able to collect a lot more trash than we normally would have without them. The trash we got was mostly brand-new-freshly littered trash which was pretty disappointing to us. In my opinion it was hard to collect too much trash because of the new vegetation growing around the lake. Speaking of which, a lot of the vegetation are the lovely milkweed plants, mostly known for attracting butterflies! I am hoping that the next time we go to the lake, it does not have freshly littered trash anywhere close to this time, butterfly population goes up, and there is not as much trash to collect! That's it for me, I hope you enjoy my pictures!

Whetstone Park Trash Pick-Up
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on for a while, but even though I have not posted anything for May does not mean I haven't been collecting trash:) On Memorial weekend, my family visited a different lake! We went to a lake called Whetstone Park which is 3 miles south of my house. It was cleaner than our usual lake, North Creek. We picked up some pieces of trash, and saw a tire as well. We could not collect it. Maybe next time with the right tool... A funny thing was that there were lots of turtles at that particular lake :). We even took a picture.... Hope you enjoy it!

Amazing April Clean Up
Hey guys! Yesterday I went to North Creek Lake. I may go to a different lake next time! Wanna know why? Because the lake is much cleaner! My dad and I walked around the whole lake finding an occasional plastic bottle or two. Then we saw there was a little trashed area near the east side of the lake. Almost all the trash we collected was from that section of the lake. I noticed that there were lots of goslings stumbling around! We got some pics of them too, they are adorable. Seeing those small animals reminded me that the lake is their home so we have to keep it clean. Lets stop littering and start cleaning!
Here is today's collection, hope you look at it.....

Easter "Trash Hunting" :)
Happy Easter everybody! I also hope that you guys had a great spring break! My family and I went to a ski resort in Virginia called Homestead Resort! Today was very rainy and my family did not go egg hunting, but that doesn't mean we didn't go trash hunting!:) We were extremely successful with today's collection! We hadn't visited North Creek in a while so there were lots to do. We found many funny things including a large bag and a pair of SHOES! I can't believe that people throw such things away! Both looked reasonably new! But anyway......... here is todays collection! Lets all litter less, and make our community clean. I hope you enjoy it!

President's Day Fun
Happy President's Day! Today my family and a few friends went to North Creek Lake for a walk. We walked around the lake and on our route we picked up some trash. I noticed that the places we had cleaned on our last visits were trashed again :( Anyway, I am happy that it is cleaner now. Here is a picture of what we got today:

Happy New Year!
Hello everybody, I hope you had a happy holiday. My family had a lot of fun. We went on vacation and we went to a New Year's party! This year, I have decided to make one of my New Year resolutions to be collecting more trash. In honor of this resolution, I collected trash today at North Creek lake. I had a lot of fun. My dog escaped her leash for a little bit. But what made me feel bad was that in the summer (at North Creek lake), all the vegetation covers the trash. But in winter, all of the vegetation falls off and the trash is exposed! Today, my sister, dad and me made some progress but there is still a lot to go. It would be nice if more people join in and help us clean in the future. But even if you pick up the occasional piece of trash, you are making a big difference. Here is today's collection:
