Happy New Year!
Yesterday my family went to North Creek lake. We picked up about four bags of trash and a bike! We found that most of the trash was located near where the water enters the lake. That most likely means that water is carrying trash into the lake. This year is almost over and one of my New Year's resolution to collect more trash next year. Happy holidays everyone!

Working With Pick Up America
Today my whole family went over to Black Hill Regional Park and helped build a bottle bench with Pick Up America! We helped make bottle bricks, which are plastic bottles that we filled with trash, like plastic bags, and wrappers. We also helped get the materials for the bottle bench ready, by making the insides of the bench. We spoke with the people who work for Pick Up America, such as Dave and Jane. I also got to work with some of my friends, which was fun. The whole experience was really cool and it was interesting to meet the people who inspired us in our own project. Here is a picture of the bench being made.

A Large Collection!
A few days ago my family went on another walk around our neighborhood, but this time, we brought a trash bag. We collected so much trash, it was crazy! It ws probably one of our most successful collections so far! There were so many plastic bottles, wrappers, even a piece of carpet, and a milk jug. The trash bag was practically full when we arrived back to our starting point. Here are two pictures that we took!

September Lake Visit
Yesterday, me and my family went for a walk around North Creek Lake. We collected newer trash and most of them were recyclable, but there is no recycle bin at the lake! It is necessary to have a recycle bin there.
I have been doing this project with my younger sister, Sana. She will be blogging and posting with me from now on. It is getting a little chilly now that it is September. But here is a picture from last night.

Neighborhood Walk
Last night, my family went on a quick walk and collected some trash along Montgomery Village Ave -> Watkins Mill Rd. We found a lot of trash for a 30 minute walk. It wasn't even at North Creek lake, it was in our neighborhood, around the sidewalk! It is suprising to me, that there was so much litter just lying around and nobody bothered to pick it up. Here is a picture attached below.

Back to School!
Sadly, this Monday, the new school year starts. I will be going into the 7th grade. But today, my family went for a walk in our neighborhood on Apple Ridge. We found trash, which we collected as usual, but we were not at a lake. All of this liter could have easily been thrown away. Here is a picture of the trash we collected.

Happy 4th of July
Yesterday, my dad, sister, and I went to the lake and collected trash. This is the first time in a while that we have recorded one of our visits to the lake, even though we have still been going. The grass was green, the flowers were blooming, and the lake looked really pretty. When we were looking for trash, I noticed that most of the trash we found was recently discarded. People continue to litter. If you look back at our other posts and see how much trash we have collected, then you can imagine what the lake would look like if we hadn't cleaned it up. Also, one of our trash-pickers broke, leaving us with only two, but we will still continue to clean. Here are some pictures from yesterday.

March Trash Collection
Hi everyone, sorry for not getting on for so long, but it's been really cold! We managed to get to the lake and clean up some trash a little while ago, and we found some cans, water bottles, and even a boot! My dad is convinced that we have found the other one while we were looking for trash previously. We are going to clean up more frequently, now that it is getting warmer. Here is a picture of the trash we collected!
