Over spring break, we decided to go for a walk because the weather was so nice and we wanted to see how the lake was doing in terms of cleanliness. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the vegetation had been cleared away from the sides of the lake. As a result of this, as we walked around, we noticed more wildlife than usual. We saw several slider turtles on the edge of the lake. I also saw a blue heron standing still in the water and we watched it quickly snatch a fish out of the water. Because it is the spring, many geese were nesting and we found an egg in the water. Overall, we found a decent amount of trash that were mostly bottles at the lake. It was considerably clean and it was easy to spot trash in the water because of the lack of vegetation which usually got in the way. Below are some of the pictures we took of the wildlife and the trash we collected.
