Today we went for a walk around North Creek lake to collect some trash. It has been a while since our last visit so there was a good amount to pick up. We found a lot of both new and old bottles today. We were thinking that one reason why so many of them might be getting in the water would be the wind blowing them from the recycling. While we were going around the lake our collection claw ended up breaking so it was difficult to pick up the pieces towards the end. Overall we ended up collecting one and a half bags full of it.

Happy Fall!
Happy Fall everybody! Today, we went on a walk around the North Creek Lake. We saw some trash inside of the water. The trash seemed to be kind of old, but overall, the lake seemed to be ok. The water level is high right now. The trash we found was made up of many plastic bottles and cans. Waste like this can be recycled, as plastic is a material that takes a long time to decompose. If it is left in nature for a long time, it can harm the environment because the wildlife in the area can eat it, choke on it, and die. So, when you see trash, pick it up because you might save a life!

Summer Asia Trip
This August I took a trip to Japan, Inner Mongolia, and Mongolia. I noticed that Inner Mongolia, which is located in China, had a lot more litter than Japan and Mongolia. I also noticed that compared to the well organized collection system of Japan, lots of areas in Inner Mongolia and Mongolia did not have proper trashcans and collection systems. There were very few recycling bins overall and almost none in Mongolia. However, Mongolia was mostly polluted in tourist areas and in the city while the rural land was more natural and untouched. Overall, the trip was extremely exciting and we visited lots of family and friends in Inner Mongolia. We also got to travel to the countryside of Mongolia and stay in a yurt which I had never done before. While in Mongolia, visiting a famous rock structure, we picked up some trash so here is a picture below!

It's Summer Break!
Finally, the end of the school year has come around and that opens many new opportunities to go on nice summer walks where we can pick up trash. Recently, we went on our usual walk and as always, we spotted some trash. The load contained many cans and water bottles, as well as a few food wrappers. I hope you have a great rest of your summer break!

Night Time Walk
A few days ago our parents went on a walk along Montgomery Village and noticed there was some trash. So, they picked it up and as you can see in the picture below, there were a lot of bottles. So, remember to recycle, as it helps a lot with reusing non-renewable products, which will help the environment!

Lots of Trash in the Apple Ridge Ballfield
Last Saturday, we were walking along the ballfield near our neighborhood and noticed a lot of trash scattered along the forest next to the field. We started to pick up trash but there was so much that we couldn't get everything that were deep in the branches, but we still got a whole bag of trash. And remember, always try to pick up trash when you see it, it makes a huge difference!
