Even More Trash!

My family and I went on a walk around our neighborhood. While we were walking, we stumbled upon a bunch of trash. We automatically just picked the trash up. We found boxes, bottles, and cups. Remember that we can make our community better by littering less, and if you find trash just pick it up and throw dispose of it properly. Here is the trash we picked up.

Spring Break Discoveries

Over spring break, we decided to go for a walk because the weather was so nice and we wanted to see how the lake was doing in terms of cleanliness. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the vegetation had been cleared away from the sides of the lake. As a result of this, as we walked around, we noticed more wildlife than usual. We saw several slider turtles on the edge of the lake. I also saw a blue heron standing still in the water and we watched it quickly snatch a fish out of the water. Because it is the spring, many geese were nesting and we found an egg in the water. Overall, we found a decent amount of trash that were mostly bottles at the lake. It was considerably clean and it was easy to spot trash in the water because of the lack of vegetation which usually got in the way. More Trash! Let's Clean it Up!

My parents walked to CVS Pharmacy to get some medicine a couple weeks ago. Along their walk they found and picked up trash, as they usually do. The distance from our house to CVS is about one mile, and they walked along Montgomery Village Avenue. As you can see in the pictures below, they found a lot of bottles and cans. They also found a McDonald's bag, probably because there is a McDonald's next to the CVS. Be sure to think about the environment before littering because you're hurting the environment. If we all care about what we do, I'm sure 2017 will be an amazing year!

Trash Pick-Up While Walking the Dog

My dad and I were outside walking our dog, Becka, at the Apple Ridge Ball Field. We took the leash off of Becka  and let her run around. We spotted some trash scattered around the ball field and decided that we would just pick up all the trash, which I recommend you do if you ever come across some trash. I noticed that there were especially a lot of bottles and cans. Soon, we picked up all of the trash and then we walked over to a trash can and threw them away. Everybody should not litter in areas like where we were because that place is a recreational area and people go there often. Like I said before you should always pick up any trash that you come across. Little things like picking trash up can make a big difference. See you guys next time!

School Night Trash Collecting

Now that school has started once again, our schedules have been getting full of swimming and homework, but we still managed to find time to take walks at night. We usually walk around our neighborhood and pick up whatever we find. Recently, while taking a walk, we found a hubcap that seemed to fall off a car while it was driving by. We picked it up and put it next to a trashcan so it could be picked up easily. Here are two pictures of the trash we found on the side of the road.

Summer Break Bottle Collecting

As our break has just started, my family and I have been trying to get outside more and bike or walk around our community and neighborhood. Just recently we took another walk and collected a few more empty bottles that had been discarded on the ground. As it is getting warmer and more people are getting outside, there has been lots of trash, especially in parks or where people walk often. It is important to keep our environment clean and pick up any litter you find. Here are some pictures of the bottles and trash we found.

Trash Pick-up in the Neighborhood

I went on a walk around our neighborhood along with my parents and found a descent amount of trash. There was trash here and there. Every piece helps the environment.
