School's Out
Since summer break started last Friday, today is the first day that we did not have school. Hopefully, now I will have a lot more time on my hands! Last night, we took another walk and ended up collecting some more trash along the way. There is still a lot to be done in our own community and there is always something to be picked up. Here's a few pictures of the trash we collected. Since it's summer now, I think we can post more often.

Last Day of May!
Today, we walked through Montgomery Village and we found trash, as usual. As you can see in the pictures below, we found many bottles, bags, and wrappers, all of which are easy to dispose of. I think pollution is going to be becoming a bigger problem as it gets warmer outside as more people are going to be walking outside which means more trash is going to be thrown out. Also, since it's getting warmer many animals are coming out, so trash is going to have a bigger impact on them. Just remember to throw your trash away and recycle when you can, see you in June!

Memorial Day Weekend
This weekend, we decided to go for a walk around North Creek lake because it was such a nice day. We brought new trash pickers because our previous ones broke, but we did not end up finding that much trash because the vegetation had grown so much. All the leaves and foliage ended up blocking our view and preventing us from getting too close to the water's edge. From what we could see, the lake seemed a lot cleaner. While we didn't see that much trash, we did end up seeing a lot of wildlife, including a beaver, which I had never seen before in this lake!
Another interesting thing we saw was that recently the lake had some fishing material disposal containers added. This is really great because it provides a specific place to discard those materials so that they can be recycled accordingly. Lots of people fish at this lake so hopefully it will make a difference in our community! Here are some pictures we took today.

Happy Spring!
Hello everybody, happy Spring. Since Spring came around and the weather started to get nicer, we decided to go on a walk. We found lots of plastic bottles, cups, and containers, as well as cans, bags, and glass bottles. Now more than ever we have to be cautious of littering because many animals are going to start coming out due to the warm weather. The trash is dangerous for them, so make sure you throw trash away in trash cans and recycle if possible!

Happy Valentine's!
Happy late Valentines Day! A few days ago we went on a walk around the Montgomery Village Plaza and found some trash along the way. We found bottle, cans, cups, and containers. Remember, this could easily be preventable if you just find the nearest trash can and throw your trash away. See you next time!

New Year Cleaning
Today we went for a walk around North Creek lake to collect some trash. It has been a while since our last visit so there was a good amount to pick up. We found a lot of both new and old bottles today. We were thinking that one reason why so many of them might be getting in the water would be the wind blowing them from the recycling. While we were going around the lake our collection claw ended up breaking so it was difficult to pick up the pieces towards the end. Overall we ended up collecting one and a half bags full of it.

Happy Fall!
Happy Fall everybody! Today, we went on a walk around the North Creek Lake. We saw some trash inside of the water. The trash seemed to be kind of old, but overall, the lake seemed to be ok. The water level is high right now. The trash we found was made up of many plastic bottles and cans. Waste like this can be recycled, as plastic is a material that takes a long time to decompose. If it is left in nature for a long time, it can harm the environment because the wildlife in the area can eat it, choke on it, and die. So, when you see trash, pick it up because you might save a life!
